Santosh Sougrakpam General Secretary, IMPFO Original Notice on March 19th , 2007 The newly formed "International Manipuri progressive forum (IMPFO)”, UK announces the first ever international online competition on folk tales of Manipur (funga Waari) to promote our indigenous customs and traditional values.
IMPFO request one and all to participate in this unique event for a chance to bring forth our invaluable, nostalgic but endangered Funga-Waris to the forefront, making it an easy access to today’s youths.
Participants can send their stories (in English language) on folk tales based in Manipur, with a minimum of 1000 words, along with valid email, contact address and phone number to

The First, second and third prizes will carry cash awards of 10,000 rupees, 6,000 rupees and 4,000 rupees respectively, in addition to several consolation prizes. Prize winning entries will be published in prominent Manipuri websites and dailies.
IMPFO was formed with an aim to act as a Platform for all Manipuris who believe in the concept of constructive patriotism.
The forum aims to promote the Manipuris as one of the smartest, warmest, tolerant, competent, peace loving and hardworking citizens of the world by conducting comprehensive leadership and teamwork training camps, personality development programmes, communication skills courses, career guidance courses and training programmes on essential skills like ironing, driving motor vehicle, table manners, etiquettes and conducting basic health and first aid training (including Cardio pulmonary Resuscitations) for relevant individuals.
